PM Modi To Release 22nd PM-Kisan Installment On March 13 From Guwahati

PM Narendra Modi will release the 22nd instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi on March 13, 2026.

The Prime Minister will distribute the funds during an event in Guwahati.

According to Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the government will transfer more than ₹18,640 crore directly into the bank accounts of over 9.32 crore farmer families across the country.

Authorities will distribute the funds through the Direct Benefit Transfer mechanism.

Chouhan said the initiative demonstrates the government’s commitment to supporting farmers and recognising their contribution as the nation’s food providers.

The Centre launched the PM-Kisan programme in February 2019 to provide financial assistance to small and marginal farmers.

Since its inception, the government has transferred more than ₹4.09 lakh crore directly into farmers’ bank accounts.

With the release of the upcoming instalment, the cumulative financial support under the scheme will exceed ₹4.27 lakh crore.

Under the programme, eligible farmer families receive ₹6,000 annually in three equal instalments. Authorities credit the amount directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts.

The Agriculture Minister stated that more than 2.15 crore women farmers will receive assistance under the upcoming payment cycle.

The financial support helps farmers manage agricultural costs such as seeds, fertilisers, pesticides and other essential inputs.

The funds also help rural households address daily expenses, including education and healthcare needs.

Chouhan emphasised that the government continues to strengthen the economic position of women farmers while improving the financial stability of rural families.

He added that several independent studies indicate the scheme has boosted the rural economy.

The programme has also reduced farmers’ dependence on loans and encouraged higher investment in agricultural activities.
