PM Modi To Participate In 350th Martyrdom Anniversary Of Guru Tegh Bahadur In Kurukshetra

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini emphasised the enduring legacy of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru, who made the supreme sacrifice to protect humanity, religion, and the nation.

Speaking on Friday, CM Saini stressed the importance of sharing the Guru’s story so that future generations can draw inspiration from his courage and principles.

To honour the Guru, the Haryana government and the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee are marking the 350th martyrdom anniversary at Jyotisar, the revered site associated with the Mahabharata.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend the commemorations and pay homage to the Sikh Guru. Following the main event, he will visit the Mahabharata Anubhav Kendra, set to welcome tourists from across India and abroad. PM Modi will also inaugurate Panchjanya, an initiative located on the same premises.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will participate in the International Gita Mahotsav and the Maha Aarti, underscoring the convergence of spiritual heritage and cultural traditions in Kurukshetra.

Statewide Celebrations Leading to Shaheedi Diwas

CM Saini revealed that organisers have arranged four Nagar Kirtan Yatras across Haryana, which will pass through all districts and culminate in Jyotisar on November 24. PM Modi will attend a major ‘samagam’ on 25 November, held to coincide with the Shaheedi Diwas.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the Haryana government continues to promote the teachings and sacrifices of the Gurus and other historical figures. These efforts follow the celebration of Guru Nanak Dev’s 550th birth anniversary and now extend to the 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Guru Tegh Bahadur.

Saini underlined the government’s commitment to spreading awareness about the Gurus’ unparalleled contributions to humanity. “It is our firm resolve to ensure that the sacrifices and teachings of the Gurus guide future generations, providing inspiration and moral guidance,” he said.

The commemorative events in Kurukshetra reflect Haryana’s dedication to preserving and promoting Sikh heritage while reinforcing the values of courage, service, and spirituality that Guru Tegh Bahadur exemplified.
