PM Modi To Launch Rs 62,000-Crore Youth Development Initiatives Across India

The Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh, the fourth edition of the National Skill Convocation, will felicitate 46 All India Toppers from Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs).

The event reflects the Prime Minister’s vision to foster skills aligned with market demand and entrepreneurship opportunities.

Prime Minister Modi will launch PM-SETU (Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs), a Rs 60,000-crore scheme to upgrade 1,000 government ITIs across India.

The hub-and-spoke model will comprise 200 hub ITIs connected to 800 spokes, forming clusters with advanced infrastructure, modern trades, digital learning systems, and incubation facilities.

Anchor Industry Partners will manage the clusters, ensuring outcome-oriented skilling, while hubs will host innovation centres, production units, and placement services.

Special emphasis will be placed on ITIs in Patna and Darbhanga.

Vocational Skill Labs and Teacher Training

The Prime Minister will inaugurate 1,200 vocational skill labs across 400 Navodaya Vidyalayas and 200 Eklavya Model Residential Schools in 34 States and Union Territories.

Covering 12 high-demand sectors, the labs will equip students, including those in tribal and remote areas, with hands-on training.

Alongside this, 1,200 vocational teachers will receive training to deliver industry-relevant education in alignment with the National Education Policy 2020 and CBSE curriculum.

PM Modi will launch Bihar’s revamped Mukhyamantri Nishchay Svyam Sahayata Bhatta Yojana, offering nearly five lakh graduate youth Rs 1,000 monthly for two years along with skill training.

He will also unveil the redesigned Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme, providing interest-free education loans of up to Rs 4 lakh.

Further empowering the youth, Bihar Yuva Ayog, a statutory commission for people aged 18–45, will be formally inaugurated.

Higher Education and Innovation in Bihar

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur Skill University and lay the foundation for new academic and research facilities under PM-USHA in four Bihar universities, benefiting over 27,000 students.

He will also dedicate the Bihta campus of NIT Patna, featuring a 5G use case lab, a Regional Academic Centre for Space in collaboration with ISRO, and an Innovation and Incubation Centre supporting start-ups.

In addition, PM Modi will distribute appointment letters to more than 4,000 newly recruited Bihar government employees and release Rs 450 crore in scholarships via Direct Benefit Transfer to 25 lakh students under the Mukhyamantri Balak/Balika Scholarship Scheme.

These initiatives aim to integrate education, skill development, entrepreneurship, and infrastructure, creating substantial opportunities for India’s youth.

The initiatives will help Bihar emerge as a hub of skilled manpower, enabling the state to contribute significantly to regional and national growth.
