PM Modi To Launch ₹3,880 Crore Development Projects In Varanasi

PM Narendra Modi will visit his parliamentary constituency, Varanasi, on Friday to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹3,880 crore.

The visit will also include a public address as part of a major push toward infrastructure growth and urban renewal in the region.

PM Modi To Unveil 44 Projects

PM Modi will unveil a total of 44 development projects, ranging across urban and rural sectors.

These initiatives aim to improve public utilities, modernize essential services, and enhance regional connectivity.

The Prime Minister will inaugurate key facilities, such as a newly constructed transit hostel at Police Lines and new police barracks in Ramnagar.

Additionally, PM Modi will open four newly built rural roads, significantly improving local transportation and access in surrounding areas.

PM Modi To Inaugurate Urban Development and Beautification Work

Urban transformation features prominently on the agenda. PM Modi will inaugurate beautification works at the iconic Shastri Ghat and Samne Ghat, part of an ongoing effort to enhance Varanasi’s riverfront and public spaces.

The Prime Minister will also unveil several projects undertaken by the Railways and the Varanasi Development Authority (VDA).

These projects aim to both upgrade infrastructure and elevate the aesthetic appeal of the city’s busiest areas.

Power Infrastructure Gets Major Upgrade

Of the 44 total projects, foundation stones will be laid for 25 new initiatives worth approximately ₹2,250 crore.

A large chunk of this investment will go toward strengthening Varanasi’s power infrastructure.

Plans include:

  • 15 new power substations
  • Installation of numerous transformers
  • Laying 1,500 kilometers of new power lines

These efforts are expected to significantly boost power reliability and distribution across the city and nearby rural areas.

High-Security Arrangements In Place

Authorities have ramped up security ahead of PM Modi’s arrival. Officials have tightened access to the event venue, setting up frisking checkpoints even along VIP routes.

Security teams have deployed drones, rooftop surveillance units, and CCTV cameras along the Prime Minister’s travel path for real-time monitoring.

Police personnel have been directed to remain in full uniform with ID cards, avoid mobile phone use while on duty, and strictly adhere to PM security protocols.

PM Modi’s visit underscores the government’s continued emphasis on regional development, particularly in the Prime Minister’s own constituency.

With projects targeting connectivity, urban growth, and power infrastructure, today’s event signals another major stride in Varanasi’s transformation.
