PM Modi To Join Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot Samvaad In Puducherry Ahead Of Elections

On Saturday, PM Narendra Modi said he is confident the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will secure another term in Puducherry, asserting that the ruling coalition has delivered on public expectations over the past five years.

Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “Over the last 5 years, the double-engine NDA Government has fulfilled the aspirations of the people of Puducherry. That is why the people of Puducherry are going to bless NDA yet again.”

“Looking forward to joining the ‘Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot Samvaad – Puducherry’ on the 30th at 5:30 PM,” the post read.

The remarks come ahead of the upcoming Legislative Assembly elections across five regions, West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry.

Voters in Assam, Kerala and Puducherry will cast their ballots on April 9, while Tamil Nadu will go to the polls on April 23. West Bengal will hold elections in two phases on April 23 and April 29, with counting set for May 4.

Early March Development Push

Earlier this month, on March 1, PM Modi launched and laid the foundation for development projects in Puducherry worth more than Rs 2,700 crore.

Addressing a public gathering, he highlighted efforts to boost spiritual, eco, and health tourism as part of a broader plan to strengthen the region’s economy.

The Prime Minister also pointed to improvements in per capita income and social indicators in Puducherry, expressing optimism that continued governance under the NDA would accelerate progress further. He reiterated the importance of ensuring accessible and affordable healthcare for all citizens.

Referring to the presence of multiple medical institutions, including the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, he noted ongoing upgrades such as the modernisation of its Regional Cancer Centre and the development of critical care facilities in Puducherry and Karaikal. He said these initiatives could position the Union Territory as a key destination for medical tourism.

Highlighting infrastructure development, PM Modi said projects worth Rs 1,142.23 crore had been inaugurated, alongside a broader national push backed by a Rs 12 lakh crore allocation in the Union Budget. He added that improvements in roads, water supply, coastal infrastructure, education, and healthcare will likely enhance living standards in Puducherry.
