PM Modi Unveils Multiple Projects; Calls Important Day For Devlopment Of Delhi

In line with his vision of ‘Housing for All,’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the newly constructed flats for residents of clusters under the In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Project at Swabhiman Apartments, Ashok Vihar, Delhi, on Friday.

During his visit, the PM inaugurated 1,675 newly built flats for the residents of these Jhuggi Jhopri (JJ) clusters and hand over the keys to eligible beneficiaries. This event marks the successful completion of the second In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Project by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), aimed at providing better living conditions with essential amenities for the residents.

The In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Project offers affordable housing solutions to JJ dwellers. For every Rs 25 lakh spent on constructing a flat, beneficiaries contribute less than 7% of the total amount, including a nominal contribution of Rs 1.42 lakh and Rs 30,000 for five years of maintenance.

Prime Minister Modi shared a video on X highlighting the utility of projects for Delhi citizens.

PM Narendra Modi To Inaugurate Urban Redevelopment Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated two significant urban redevelopment projects in Delhi on Friday. At Nauroji Nagar, he unveiled the World Trade Centre (WTC) at 12:45 PM, marking a key milestone in modernizing the city’s infrastructure.

Following the WTC inauguration, PM Modi inaugurated the General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) Type-II Quarters at Sarojini Nagar. The new residential facility is expected to enhance the living standards for government employees and address housing needs in the city.

The projects, part of Delhi’s urban redevelopment initiative, aim to transform the city’s landscape and improve functionality in key areas.

The WTC project has revitalized Nauroji Nagar by replacing over 600 old, dilapidated quarters with cutting-edge commercial towers. With this, the project promotes sustainable building practices, including solar energy generation, rainwater harvesting, and a zero-discharge concept.

At Sarojini Nagar, the GPRA Type-II Quarters project comprises 28 towers with over 2,500 residential units.

The project focuses on eco-friendly living, incorporating modern amenities, rainwater harvesting systems, sewage and water treatment plants, and solar-powered waste compactors.

PM Modi To Lay Foundation Stone At Delhi University

Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for three new projects at Delhi University, with a combined value of over Rs 600 crore. These projects include the construction of an academic block in the Eastern Campus at Surajmal Vihar, East Delhi, and an academic block in the Western Campus at Dwarka.

Additionally, the foundation laid for the Veer Savarkar College at Roshanpura, Najafgarh, which will feature state-of-the-art educational facilities.

These initiatives reflect the government’s ongoing commitment to enhancing infrastructure, providing better living conditions, and promoting sustainable development in the national capital.
