PM Modi To Inaugurate India AI Impact Summit; Positions India As Global AI Hub

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the India AI Impact Summit from February 15 to February 20, firmly positioning India at the centre of the global artificial intelligence discourse.

He will engage directly with leading global technology figures during the six-day high-profile event, signalling India’s ambition to shape the future of responsible and inclusive AI governance.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the summit at a time when artificial intelligence increasingly drives economic growth, national security, and social transformation.

Senior officials from the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology confirmed that PM Modi will also host a gala dinner for visiting global technology leaders, underscoring India’s intent to foster strategic partnerships beyond formal sessions.

The Prime Minister will welcome an unprecedented gathering of global tech leadership, with senior government officials confirming participation from some of the world’s most influential figures.

These include Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, OpenAI CEO Dario Amodei, Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis, Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, and Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon.

Nvidia chief Jensen Huang is also expected to attend, further elevating the summit’s global stature.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has extended a formal invitation to China, reinforcing India’s effort to frame the summit as a neutral, inclusive global platform.

Officials stated that PM Modi aims to promote the idea of ‘democratising AI’, ensuring equitable access to artificial intelligence technologies across nations, especially for the developing world.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will preside over an event expected to draw participation from more than 100 countries, with invitations already dispatched to around 140 nations.

Officials noted that over 100 AI leaders, including CEOs, CXOs, and chief scientists, are likely to attend the main summit sessions, reflecting the event’s strategic importance.

Key Events and Summit Schedule

PM Modi will inaugurate the AI Impact Expo on February 16, showcasing cutting-edge applications of artificial intelligence across sectors.

Hr will host the gala dinner for global technology leaders on February 18, creating a platform for informal yet strategic dialogue.

The formal opening ceremony will take place on February 19, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the leaders’ plenary session and a CEO roundtable focused on policy alignment, innovation, and ethical AI frameworks.

On February 20, a ministerial meeting of the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence will convene policymakers from multiple countries.

Ahead of the summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision will unfold through an innovation festival beginning February 15 at Central Park, Connaught Place.

The festival will highlight creative and social uses of AI. Officials estimate nearly 800 parallel AI-related events nationwide, with over 1.5 lakh participants expected, reinforcing India’s emergence as a global AI convenor.
