PM Modi To Inaugurate Eye Hospital And Numerous Projects In Varanasi Today

PM Modi will visit his parliamentary constituency, Varanasi, today to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for 23 projects worth over Rs 6,611 crore.

In a social media post on the eve of his visit, Modi emphasized his government’s commitment to improving the lives of residents in Kashi, the city of Baba Vishwanath. He stated, “Around 2 p.m. tomorrow, I will inaugurate the RJ Sankara Eye Hospital and dedicate several other projects to the people.”

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the RJ Sankara Eye Hospital, which was built at a cost of Rs 90 crore. He will be joined by Shankaracharya Swami Vijayendra Saraswati for the ceremony.

Additionally, Modi will lay the foundation for the expansion of Varanasi Airport, including a new terminal building. Several projects related to health, education, sports, religion, tourism, and housing will also be inaugurated during the visit.

Another key announcement expected is a new free food program initiated by the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust. This scheme, in partnership with Natyakotam Sanstha, aims to provide meals to students from 16 Sanskrit schools and attendants of three hospitals. A successful trial of the “Satvik Sanatan Kitchen” at Annakshetra has already benefited around 3,000 people, with plans to expand to 5,000 beneficiaries.

Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust CEO Vishwa Bhushan Mishra indicated that Modi is likely to announce this initiative during his visit.

Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and several senior leaders will accompany the Prime Minister for the event. Modi is scheduled to arrive in Varanasi at around 1 p.m. and will depart for Delhi by 6 p.m.

Upon arrival, he will be welcomed by the Governor and Chief Minister Adityanath, along with Deputy Chief Ministers and other top ministers.

BJP’s Kashi region President Dilip Patel noted that the Prime Minister will receive a grand welcome, complete with drums and flowers throughout the city. Ahead of his visit, numerous hoardings featuring Modi have been displayed across Varanasi, including a notable poster depicting him with ten hands, symbolizing various government schemes.

After landing at Babatpur International Airport, Modi will inaugurate the Shankara Eye Hospital before heading to the Sigra Sports Complex. There, he will lay foundation stones for several projects, including the Rs 380.13 crore Sigra Stadium.

PM Modi will also address a gathering of athletes, intellectuals, public representatives, and BJP workers at Sigra Stadium. In total, 14 projects will be dedicated to the public, alongside the foundation laying for two significant schemes costing Rs 2,874.17 crore.
