Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the centenary celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Delhi on October 1.
The event, scheduled to begin at 10.30 AM, will see the Prime Minister unveil a specially designed commemorative postage stamp and coin marking 100 years of the RSS’s contributions to India’s socio-cultural landscape.
PM Modi will also address the gathering of volunteers, leaders, and dignitaries.
Founded in 1925 in Nagpur by Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the RSS began as a volunteer-driven organisation committed to fostering cultural awareness, discipline, and civic responsibility.
Over the past century, it has grown into one of India’s most influential socio-cultural organisations, playing a key role in shaping national identity and civic engagement.
The RSS focuses on the formation of national character, instilling devotion to the motherland, discipline, self-restraint, courage, and heroism among its members.
The organisation’s ultimate aim, termed Sarvangeena Unnati, is the all-round development of the nation. The centenary celebration underscores this enduring vision and its relevance in contemporary India.
Throughout its history, RSS and its affiliated bodies have contributed significantly to education, healthcare, social welfare, and disaster relief.
Volunteers have actively participated in relief efforts during floods, earthquakes, cyclones, and other natural calamities, often leading rehabilitation initiatives on the frontlines.
The centenary event not only celebrates the RSS’s historical achievements but also recognises its ongoing role in promoting cultural unity and national integration.
The release of a commemorative stamp and coin symbolises the organisation’s century-long dedication to India’s development and its vision of national pride rooted in Dharma.
The centenary celebrations honour the RSS’s legacy while highlighting its continued contributions to India’s cultural and social fabric.
The event emphasises the organisation’s commitment to fostering unity across communities and inspiring civic responsibility among citizens.
PM Modi’s participation in the RSS centenary reflects the government’s acknowledgement of the organisation’s historic and contemporary contributions.
The celebrations aim to inspire new generations of volunteers to uphold the principles of discipline, service, and national development, ensuring the organisation’s values continue to shape India’s cultural and social narrative for years to come.
