PM Modi To Celebrate Tribal Pride Day In Bihar’s Jamui On November 15

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jamui in Bihar on November 15 to commemorate Tribal Pride Day, marking the beginning of the 150th birth anniversary year celebrations of Lord Birsa Munda. This significant event aims to honor the legendary tribal leader’s contributions to India’s freedom struggle.

Tribal Upliftment Projects

During his visit, PM Modi will unveil a commemorative coin and postage stamp in honor of Lord Birsa Munda at 11 am.

He will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various development projects worth over Rs 6,640 crore, focusing on uplifting tribal communities and enhancing infrastructure in rural and remote areas. These projects include:

Housing and Healthcare: Participation in the griha pravesh of 11,000 houses constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyay Maha Abhiyan (PM-Janman) and inauguration of 23 Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) launched under PM-Janman and 30 additional MMUs under Dharti Aaba Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA).
Education: Foundation stone laying of 25 additional Eklavya Model Residential Schools at a cost of over Rs 1,110 crore.
Entrepreneurship: Inauguration of 300 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras (VDVKs) to promote tribal entrepreneurship and support livelihood creation.

Preserving Tribal Heritage

To document and preserve the rich history and heritage of tribal communities, PM Modi will inaugurate:

-Tribal Freedom Fighter Museums: Two museums at Chhindwara and Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh.
Tribal Research Institutes: Two institutes at Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir and Gangtok in Sikkim.

Enhancing Connectivity

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of:

New Roads: 500 km of new roads to improve connectivity in tribal areas under Jan Man.
Community Centers: 100 Multi-purpose Centres (MPCs) to function as community centers.

This visit reinforces the government’s commitment to tribal welfare and development, recognizing the significant contributions of Lord Birsa Munda and other tribal freedom fighters ¹.
