PM Narendra Modi is set to commence his Assam visit with an air display in Moran, situated in Dibrugarh district. He will leave New Delhi early on Saturday and is expected to land at Chabua airport at around 7:15 AM.
Following his arrival, he will proceed to Moran to observe advanced aerial exercises and formally open an Emergency Landing Facility constructed on a national highway.
The programme is regarded as a notable development, reflecting the region’s rising strategic importance and its expanding role in strengthening India’s defence and aviation capabilities.
Security measures have been intensified across the venues, with senior authorities overseeing final preparations.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister will inaugurate a newly built bridge spanning the Brahmaputra River, creating a direct link between Guwahati and North Guwahati.
The project is expected to streamline vehicular movement and reduce travel time. It will also enhance connectivity between the northern and southern parts of the city.
PM Modi will also launch the temporary campus of the Indian Institute of Management, Guwahati, at Bongora.
The institute is anticipated to enhance higher education opportunities in the Northeast and contribute to regional economic advancement.
He will flag off 100 electric buses in Guwahati to promote cleaner urban transport. The initiative aims to modernise public transportation, reduce emissions and enhance overall air quality.
Officials noted that the visit underscores the Centre’s ongoing commitment to accelerating infrastructure, educational and urban development in Assam.
Elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure the smooth conduct of the Prime Minister’s engagements.
