PM Modi To Address Mega Rally In Bihar’s Bettiah Ahead Of Final Election Phase

The BJP will host Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a massive public rally on Saturday at Kudiya Kothi Maidan, Chanpatia in Bihar’s West Champaran district.

This event forms part of the party’s campaign for the second phase of the Assembly elections on 11 November.

To ensure safety, authorities deployed extensive security measures. They included multiple layers of police and specialised forces to manage the crowd and maintain order.

Moreover, candidates from all the West and East Champaran Assembly constituencies will attend the rally. Consequently, BJP supporters and residents are expected to turn out in large numbers.

Ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit, local leaders submitted a request to the PMO. They urged the reopening of the Chanpatia sugar mill, closed for several years. Residents hope PM Modi will announce its revival, which could boost local employment and the regional economy.

Earlier, during a rally in Aurangabad on Friday, PM Modi attacked the RJD-Congress alliance. He accused the opposition of promoting a “culture of fear and violence” among the youth. Referring to a recent statement at a Mahagathbandhan event, he said, “A young supporter had publicly declared he would carry a katta (pistol) when Tejashwi Yadav’s government would come to power.”

He warned that if the alliance returned to power, it could revive fear, extortion, and lawlessness. He also noted that Naxalism once peaked in Bihar, leaving people afraid to travel at night. However, the NDA government under CM Nitish Kumar restored law and order.

In addition, PM Modi highlighted Bihar’s economic growth under double-engine governance. He claimed that between 2005 and 2014, RJD and Congress governments at the Centre obstructed Bihar’s development. “After 2014, the double-engine government accelerated growth. We have given three times more funds to Bihar for development works,” he said.

Finally, the rally in Bettiah holds strategic importance for the BJP. The party aims to consolidate its support in north Bihar ahead of the high-stakes final phase of the Assembly elections.
