Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday conveyed his appreciation to the electorate of Puducherry after the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) retained power in the Union Territory, crediting the result to the administrative performance of the government headed by Chief Minister N Rangasamy.
Following the declaration of the results, the Prime Minister issued a message on social media acknowledging the continued support of the people. He noted that the fresh mandate indicates strong public faith in the NDA’s development-oriented approach to governance.
“Thank you, Puducherry! Based on our outstanding governance achievements and the performance of the government led by Mr N Rangasamy, the people of Puducherry have granted the National Democratic Alliance another term in office. These felicitations will provide fresh impetus to our collective efforts to further enhance good governance,” PM Modi stated.
The NDA’s electoral success is being interpreted as a reflection of confidence in Rangasamy’s leadership. His party, the All India NR Congress (AINRC), remains a key pillar of the alliance, working alongside the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The alliance had also centred its campaign on stability, effective welfare delivery and infrastructure progress, highlighting its track record in office.
Analysts suggest that voters in Puducherry have opted for continuity, valuing consistent governance and local leadership.
Rangasamy’s enduring popularity appears to have played a decisive role in securing the alliance’s return to power.
The Prime Minister’s remarks also reinforce the NDA’s emphasis on governance-led politics as a central theme.
With a renewed term, the alliance is likely to continue focusing on welfare programmes, infrastructure development and administrative improvements in Puducherry.
As supporters celebrated the victory, alliance leaders reiterated their commitment to delivering on promises and promoting inclusive development across the Union Territory.
