PM Narendra Modi on Monday launched development projects worth ₹40,000 crore in Bihar’s Purnea and launched a sharp attack on the Opposition. He accused rival parties of siding with infiltrators and neglecting Bihar’s growth and aspirations.
Addressing a massive public gathering in Purnea, PM Modi directly criticised the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)-Congress alliance. He alleged that the Opposition is supporting illegal infiltrators and prioritising family interests over national development.
“These leaders are shamelessly raising slogans for infiltrators who have come from abroad. Whoever is an infiltrator will have to leave India. Only Indian law will be applicable here,” PM Modi said.
He warned that those backing infiltrators in Bihar would face consequences in the upcoming elections. PM Modi challenged Opposition leaders to face the public and asserted that no attempt to protect infiltrators would succeed.
Further attacking dynastic politics, he said:
“RJD and Congress are only worried about their families. For them, it is ‘Parivar Ka Saath, Parivar Ka Vikas’. For Modi, the people of this country are his family. We believe in ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’.”
PM Modi highlighted his government’s work for makhana farmers in the Seemanchal region.
Taking a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi without naming him, he remarked, “Some people are roaming around in makhana fields. They wouldn’t have even heard of makhana before.”
He announced that a National Makhana Board has been set up, and ₹475 crore has been approved to ensure better pricing and modern technology for farmers. He criticised previous governments for ignoring the needs of makhana cultivators.
PM Modi condemned past statements by RJD and Congress leaders, accusing them of belittling Bihar.
“Congress and RJD leaders compared Bihar to a ‘bidi’. These people have no concern for Bihar and can never see it progress,” he said.
Among the key development projects launched was the much-awaited Purnea Airport terminal, completed in just five months. PM Modi said the terminal will place Seemanchal on India’s aviation map.
He also inaugurated the Araria–Galgalia–Thakurganj new rail line worth ₹4,410 crore and flagged off three new trains:
PM Modi laid the foundation stone for several big-ticket infrastructure projects, including:
Under the housing and social development initiative, he distributed house keys to 40,920 families under PM Awas Yojana, with homes built at a cost of ₹603 crore. He also distributed a community investment fund worth ₹500 crore.
In his concluding remarks, PM Modi emphasised the central role of Seemanchal in Bihar’s development and promised to reverse decades of misrule under RJD and Congress governments.
“The development of Seemanchal is essential for the development of Bihar. People here have suffered under misrule, and the NDA is committed to changing that,” he said.
