PM Modi Shares Asansol Rally Visuals, Says Bengal Backing BJP Agenda

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday shared visuals from his recent rally in Asansol, stating that the people of West Bengal are backing the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) development agenda and will not support the Trinamool Congress.

In a post on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said the enthusiasm seen in Asansol reflected growing public support for the BJP’s vision for the state. The accompanying video showed large crowds waving, cheering, and raising slogans in support of the Prime Minister and the party.

The visuals captured a highly charged atmosphere, with supporters expressing strong enthusiasm as the campaign gains momentum ahead of the upcoming elections in West Bengal.

The Prime Minister’s message underlined the BJP’s continued efforts to expand its political presence in the state, where the party has been strengthening its organisational base in recent years.

A notable moment during the Asansol rally saw a supporter holding a poster directly appealing to the Prime Minister. The poster featured his image along with a map of West Bengal and carried messages highlighting concerns such as corruption, law and order, infiltration, women’s safety, and unemployment.

These issues remain central to the BJP’s criticism of the ruling Trinamool Congress as campaigning intensifies across West Bengal.

At the rally, PM Modi attacked the state government, alleging misgovernance and saying Bengal needs stronger development-oriented leadership, while adding that the BJP’s model would bring renewed progress. He further stated that the political shift would mark a new phase of development in West Bengal, adding that the upcoming elections would decide the state’s future direction.

The West Bengal Assembly elections will be held in two phases on April 23 and April 29, with counting scheduled for May 4.
