Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended warm greetings to citizens on the fourth day of Chaitra Navratri, dedicated to Goddess Kushmanda. He offered prayers and invoked the deity’s divine energy, describing her as the embodiment of courage and spiritual strength.
In a message shared on X, PM Modi expressed reverence for Maa Kushmanda and wished that her divine energy inspires a renewed sense of consciousness in every individual. He emphasised the transformative power of devotion, stating that faith in the Divine Mother fills hearts with positivity and strength.
The Prime Minister shared ‘Durgati Naashini Maa’, sung by Dipti Rekha, enhancing the spiritual fervour.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also conveyed his wishes, praying for happiness, prosperity, and good health for all devotees.
He described Maa Kushmanda as the fourth manifestation of Jagadamba and a symbol of supreme power and perfection.
In Hindu belief, Goddess Kushmanda derives her name from ‘Ku'(small), ‘Ushma’ (energy), and ‘Anda’ (cosmic egg).
She rides a lioness and holds eight attributes: a lotus, bow, arrow, kamandalu, amrit kalash, japa mala, gada, and chakra.
She is regarded as a central divine force associated with the solar system and is believed to bless devotees with health and relief from suffering.
Devotees thronged temples nationwide, forming long queues from early morning to offer prayers.
The festival of Navratri celebrates Goddess Durga and her nine forms, observed with devotion and ritual across India.
