PM Narendra Modi’s Parivartan Rally, which was scheduled for December 29 in Rohini, Delhi. The rally has now been rescheduled in light of the seven-day national mourning announced to honour the legacy of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
As per the media reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kick off his election campaign with the first Parivartan Rally in Delhi, signalling the BJP’s preparations for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections due in February 2025. Moreover, PM Modi’s rally is expected to play a key role in energizing the party’s electoral efforts.
The reports further informed that another significant rally by the Prime Minister is slated for January 3, 2025, with high expectations that PM Modi will make a major announcement during the event. “PM Modi is likely to reveal something substantial for Delhi during this rally,” as per Bhartiya Janta Party’s top official.
Meanwhile, a separate source within the Delhi BJP informed that the Central Election Committee is scheduled to meet on Sunday, and the party is expected to release its list of candidates by December 4, 2025.
Although the Election Commission of India has not yet declared the exact dates for the Delhi Assembly polls, the elections are widely anticipated to take place in February 2025, with the current assembly’s term set to expire on February 23, 2025.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led by Arvind Kejriwal, aims to secure a third consecutive term in office, building on their significant victories in the 2015 and 2020 elections. In the previous elections, AAP won 67 seats in 2015 and 63 in 2020, out of the 70-member Delhi Assembly.
In a related development, the BJP held an important brainstorming session with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at the BJP headquarters on December 24. The meeting focused on enhancing coordination between the BJP and RSS as they strategize for the Delhi Assembly elections.
A senior BJP source revealed, “A crucial meeting took place between BJP and RSS leaders regarding the Delhi elections. Arun Kumar, who is overseeing the coordination of BJP efforts on behalf of the Sangh, reviewed the election strategy with key BJP leaders.”
As the countdown to the 2025 elections begins, both the BJP and AAP are intensifying their preparations to shape the political landscape of Delhi.
