Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the holy city of Prayagraj and took a dip in the sacred river of Ganga Today. PM reached Prayagraj on February 5 as it holds spiritual significance in Hindu tradition. February 5 marks the observance of Magh Ashtami and Bhishma Ashtami.
“In line with his commitment to promote and preserve India’s spiritual and cultural heritage, the Prime Minister has consistently taken proactive steps to enhance infrastructure and facilities at pilgrimage sites,” the statement released earlier by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) read.

Notably, over 2.5 crore devotees have already taken a holy dip at the sacred Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj Maha Kumbh Mela on Basant Panchmi.
Moreover, the Prime Minister landed in Prayagraj around 10:29 AM Today and reached Maha Kumbh Mela around 11:58 AM. Later PM boarded a cruise to reach Triveni Sangam.
The Prime Minister will return after completing religious rituals, as he performed Ganga pooja at Triveni Sangam-the confluence of three rivers, Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati–at the ongoing Mahakumbh 2025 in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj on Wednesday morning after taking a holy dip.
