Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the sacred Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam in Srisailam, Andhra Pradesh, on Thursday and prayed for the health and prosperity of all Indians.
“Prayed at the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam at Srisailam. Prayed for the well-being and good health of my fellow Indians. May everyone be happy and prosperous,” the Prime Minister wrote on X, sharing photographs of his temple visit with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.
The temple, one of India’s 12 Jyotirlingas and 52 Shakti Peeths, holds immense religious and cultural importance.
Priests and officials welcomed the Prime Minister and state leaders, guiding them through the rituals and explaining the temple’s unique heritage, a rare coexistence of a Jyotirlinga and a Shakti Peeth within the same premises.
Following the temple rituals, PM Modi visited the Sree Shivaji Spoorthi Kendra, a memorial complex dedicated to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s historic pilgrimage to Srisailam in 1677.
The complex houses a meditation hall and models of Shivaji’s four famous forts, Pratapgad, Rajgad, Raigad, and Shivneri.
A statue of Shivaji Maharaj in deep meditation stands at its centre. Members of the Sree Shivaji Memorial Committee briefed the Prime Minister on the Kendra’s significance and architectural features.
Upon arrival at Kurnool airport earlier in the day, the Prime Minister was received by Governor S Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh.
Later, PM Modi will address a Super GST Super Saving public meeting at Raaga Mayuri Green Hills in Nannuru village. The event formed part of Andhra Pradesh’s campaign to spread awareness about the latest GST reforms aimed at promoting fiscal efficiency and transparency.
He will also lay the foundation stone and dedicate to the nation several development projects totalling ₹13,430 crore across multiple sectors, including power, roads, railways, industry, and defence manufacturing.
This marks the Prime Minister’s fifth visit to Andhra Pradesh since the TDP-led NDA government assumed office last year.
