PM Modi Pays Tribute To Satish Shah; Hails Him As ‘Legend Of Indian Entertainment’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over veteran actor Satish Shah’s demise, stating that people will remember him as ‘a true legend of Indian entertainment’.

PM Modi conveyed his sorrow in a post on his official X account, previously known as Twitter.

The Prime Minister highlighted Shah’s unique humour and unforgettable performances that brought laughter into the lives of millions.

PM Modi extended his heartfelt condolences to Shah’s family and admirers, adding ‘Om Shanti’ at the end of his message, reflecting respect and prayers for the departed soul.

Tributes from Bollywood

Several prominent Bollywood personalities, including Kajol, R Madhavan, Karan Johar, and Anupam Kher, took to social media to honour the late actor.

Satish Shah’s co-star from the popular television series ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’, Rajesh Kumar, shared his personal grief, stating it feels as though he has lost a father.

Rajesh Kumar wrote on Instagram, “This is the worst hour for me… I still cannot process that Satish ji is no more… all I can say is that it feels I have lost my father.”

He further added, “A man full of life and humour, challenging everything… He made his name and left his mark as an actor… this is a big, big loss to the industry and us (Sarabhai’s family). Let’s pray for his departed soul and keep him in your prayers.”

Details of Passing

PD Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre confirmed that they found actor Satish Shah unresponsive at his residence, leading to his demise.

The hospital team initiated CPR immediately and continued treatment upon arrival. Despite their best efforts, the actor could not be revived.

The hospital expressed deep sadness over the loss of the veteran actor.

Satish Shah’s family will perform his last rites at Pawan Hans Cremation Ground, SV Road, Vile Parle (W), Mumbai, at 12 PM on October 26.

Shah’s contributions to Indian entertainment, particularly through his iconic role in ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’ and numerous other films and television series, have left a lasting impact.

His effortless humour, versatility, and memorable performances ensure that his legacy will continue to resonate with audiences across generations.

The Indian film and television industry’s peers, fans, and dignitaries mourn the loss of celebrated artist Satish Shah, reflecting on his life and work and recognising that his presence will be deeply missed.
