Upendrra Rai, Chairman and Managing Director as well as Editor-in-Chief of Bharat Express News Network, has lost his elder brother, Rajesh Rai, who passed away in Delhi on Saturday following a heart attack.
He breathed his last at Moolchand Hospital. His final rites will take place on 27 October at his ancestral village, Sherpur Kalan, in Ghazipur district, Uttar Pradesh.
Rajesh Rai had been unwell for some time. On Saturday morning, he suffered a sudden cardiac arrest and was rushed to the hospital, where doctors made every effort to save him but could not.
His demise has cast a pall of grief over his family, friends, and the media fraternity.
Originally a resident of Sherpur Kalan village under Mohammadabad tehsil in Ghazipur district, Rajesh Rai had been living in his ancestral village for several years.
He actively engaged in social work, and his simplicity and generous nature earned him great respect and affection within the community.
His followers and well-wishers will bid him a final farewell on 27 October at Sherpur Kalan.
Rajesh Rai shared a long-standing association with the Sahara India family. Throughout his life, he worked tirelessly for social cooperation and the upliftment of rural society, which won him widespread recognition and respect.
His untimely passing has caused an irreparable loss not only to the Bharat Express News Network family but also to the wider media and social sectors.
Several senior journalists, social activists, and public representatives have, however, expressed deep sorrow over his demise.
