PM Modi Meets Mongolian President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa At Hyderabad House

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Mongolian President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa at Hyderabad House in New Delhi, marking a significant engagement between the two nations.

The leaders exchanged a warm greeting on arrival and jointly planted a sapling before commencing their official discussions.

Earlier in the morning, President Khurelsukh paid his respects to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) shared a post on X stating, “Together for a peace loving and harmonious world. President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa of Mongolia paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat this morning.”

The Mongolian President arrived in New Delhi on Monday for a four-day State Visit. Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation Murlidhar Mohol received him at the airport.

According to MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, President Khurelsukh received a ceremonial welcome and Guard of Honour upon his arrival, his first visit to India since taking office.

In another post on X, the MEA extended a cordial welcome, posting, “Reinforcing the deep civilizational bonds between our countries. President Mr. Khurelsukh Ukhnaa of Mongolia has arrived in New Delhi on a State Visit to India. He was accorded a Guard of Honour and ceremonial welcome at the airport. Warmly received by MoS Civil Aviation Mr. @mohol_murlidhar.”

High-Level Meetings and State Banquet Planned

As per the official statement, President Droupadi Murmu will meet the visiting leader and host a State banquet in his honour.

Vice President CP Radhakrishnan, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar are also likely to hold meetings with him during the visit.

The MEA noted, “Diplomatic relations between India and Mongolia were established in 1955. Over the past seven decades, the two countries have developed a close and multifaceted partnership, anchored in shared cultural and spiritual links and democratic values. The partnership spans across sectors such as defence and security, parliamentary exchanges, development partnership, energy, mining, information technology, education, healthcare, and cultural cooperation.”

It added, “India and Mongolia are Strategic Partners, Spiritual Neighbours, and Third Neighbours. The forthcoming State Visit will provide an opportunity for the leadership of India and Mongolia to review progress in bilateral relations, set the vision for strengthening the strategic partnership, and exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.”
