PM Modi Made India Proud With Vande Mataram Speech, Says BJP MP Kangana Ranaut

BJP MP Kangana Ranaut on Monday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech on Vande Mataram in Parliament. She said the Prime Minister has once again made India proud.

Ranaut expressed immense pride as an artist, noting that a song, poem, and work of art like Vande Mataram received a ten-hour discussion in Parliament.

She highlighted how the hymn rekindled resistance during the freedom struggle and inspired a movement that challenged the British Empire.

“The speech showcases the foundation of nationalistic consciousness, and its journey has spanned centuries,” she said.

She lauded PM Modi for valuing art and artists, emphasising that words and creativity form a crucial aspect of India’s soft power. She added that the beginning of the ‘Amritkaal’ in 2014 marked a golden era in the country’s history.

Ranaut also highlighted the Prime Minister’s focus on restoring women’s pride, which she said Congress historically undermined.

She accused the Congress of insulting women repeatedly, citing personal experiences and allegations against women in states like Madhya Pradesh.

She linked Congress’s attitude toward women to its opposition to Vande Mataram, noting that references to Maa Durga in the hymn may have triggered resistance.

“Today, once again, Prime Minister Modi has made us proud with his speech,” she added.

Kangana Questions Rahul Gandhi’s Absence

On the absence of the Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, during the discussion, Kangana said she could not understand why he skipped the session.

BJP MP Kangana Ranaut claimed he lacked the mindset to grasp the hymn’s importance and struggled with its linguistic blend of Sanskrit and Bengali.

She challenged him to translate or explain even a few words of Vande Mataram, asserting he would fail.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi commemorated the 150th year of Vande Mataram in Parliament. He invoked memories of the Emergency (1975) and described the patriotic hymn as a guiding force in India’s freedom struggle.

PM Modi called it a symbol of resilience, courage, and unity, celebrating its role in inspiring generations of Indians.

Kangana’s remarks reinforced the Prime Minister’s portrayal of the hymn as a cornerstone of national pride and a tribute to both art and patriotism.
