PM Modi & Leaders Pay Tribute To Guru Tegh Bahadur On Parkash Purab

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid homage to Guru Tegh Bahadur on the sacred occasion of Parkash Purab, describing him as a towering spiritual figure of Indian civilisation.

He highlighted the Guru’s life as a shining example of courage, sacrifice, and deep concern for humanity.

In a message shared on X, the Prime Minister emphasised Guru Tegh Bahadur’s unwavering stand for truth, dignity, and faith, even in the face of grave adversity.

He expressed hope that the Guru’s timeless teachings would continue to inspire people to build a just, compassionate, and harmonious society.

Revered as ‘Hind di Chadar’, Guru Tegh Bahadur defended religious freedom and protected Kashmiri Pandits from forced conversions during the Mughal era.

His martyrdom in 1675 under the rule of Aurangzeb remains a defining moment in India’s spiritual and historical legacy.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Health Minister JP Nadda also paid tributes, praising the Guru’s courage, sacrifice, and commitment to humanity and religious freedom.

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri joined the Sikh community in offering respects, recalling the Guru’s contributions as a poet, thinker, and spiritual guide.

Devotees worldwide mark the occasion with prayers, Nagar Kirtans, and community service, reflecting the enduring relevance of his teachings on faith, unity, and resilience.
