PM Modi, Leaders Extend Wishes On Maa Kalratri During Navratri

Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his greetings to the nation on Wednesday on the occasion of the seventh day of Chaitra Navratri, which honours Maa Kalratri.

Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “Salutations to Mother Kalratri. May her blessings enrich everyone’s life with courage, determination, and success.”

“The worship of Devi Ma instils new confidence in the devotees. Her devotion fills everyone with a new energy,” the post read.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also shared his message, describing, “Maa Kalratri, the seventh manifestation of Adi Shakti Maa Durga, is the destroyer of evil and the bestower of auspicious blessings upon her devotees.”

“We pray to the Divine Mother that, through her grace, the entire world is filled with happiness, peace, prosperity, and positive energy,” the post added.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also offered prayers, referring to the goddess as a symbol of strength who protects her devotees from adversity.

“This form of Mother, the destroyer of darkness, bestows upon devotees ‘Shubham’—that is, auspicious fruits. Mother’s fierce power grants us the courage to remain safe from every crisis and to move forward with fearlessness,” she posted.

Meaning and Symbolism of Maa Kalratri

The term ‘Kalratri’ combines ‘kal’, meaning time or death, and ‘ratri’, meaning night or darkness, symbolising the force that eliminates ignorance and ushers in enlightenment.

Devotees regard Maa Kalratri as the fiercest form of Goddess Durga, representing both the destruction of evil and the protection of her followers.

Artists traditionally portray her with four arms, holding a sword and an iron weapon, while her other hands grant blessings and assure safety.

Devotees across the country are also observing Navratri with great devotion, visiting temples in large numbers to offer prayers.

The celebrations highlight strong faith and spiritual fervour, as people seek blessings for prosperity, well-being, and inner strength.
