PM Modi, Leaders Extend Himachal Day Wishes; Highlight State’s Growth And Heritage

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the people of Himachal Pradesh on the occasion of Himachal Day. He expressed hope for the state’s continued growth and prosperity.

Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “Heartfelt greetings of Himachal Day to all the residents of Himachal. This sacred land of the gods holds a special identity due to its rich traditions, unparalleled cultural heritage, and the diligence, sense of duty, and humility of the people here. On this auspicious occasion, I pray for a bright future for all the families of the state.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also extended greetings, describing Himachal Pradesh as a land known for its natural beauty, cultural heritage and traditions of hospitality. He expressed hope that the state would continue to progress in development and governance.

Union Health Minister JP Nadda conveyed his wishes, highlighting the state’s scenic landscape and cultural vibrancy. He said the people of Himachal Pradesh have consistently upheld their commitment to protecting both heritage and the nation.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu also greeted residents, stating that public trust remains central to the state’s development journey. He expressed confidence that continued cooperation from citizens would help Himachal Pradesh achieve further progress in the years ahead.

Himachal Day is observed annually on 15 April to mark the formation of the state in 1948, when it was created by integrating 30 princely states.

Over the years, it underwent administrative changes before attaining full statehood in 1971 as India’s 18th state.

The day is widely celebrated across the state, reflecting both its historical evolution and aspirations for future growth.
