On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended heartfelt birthday wishes to veteran BJP leader LK Advani, who turned 97, honoring him as one of India’s most respected political figures.
Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “Best wishes to Shri LK Advani Ji on his birthday. This year is even more special because he was conferred the Bharat Ratna for his outstanding service to our nation. Among India’s most admired statesmen, he has devoted himself to furthering India’s development.”
“I am fortunate to have received his guidance for many years. I pray for his long and healthy life,” PM Modi further added.
LK Advani, a key founding member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and a senior figure in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), has been instrumental in shaping the party’s ideology and direction.
His political journey however includes a long tenure as India’s Minister of Home Affairs from 1998 to 2004 and as Deputy Prime Minister from 2002 to 2004.
Known for his strategic vision, LK Advani played a pivotal role in expanding the BJP’s influence across India, transforming it into a major political force.
LK Advani shaped his legacy through unwavering commitment to his principles, serving as Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, and influencing India’s political landscape for over five decades.
As one of the BJP’s most influential leaders, he remains a revered figure within the party and across the nation.
