On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led a key meeting with Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Chandigarh, focusing on governance and national development strategies.
Sharing highlights from the meeting on social media X, PM Modi posted, “Chaired a meeting of NDA Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers. We had extensive discussions on aspects of good governance and ways to improve people’s lives.”
Prime Minister Modi emphasized that the alliance is actively working to drive national progress while focusing on empowering the poor and marginalized. He further highlighted the government’s commitment to improving the lives of the underprivileged, ensuring that their efforts are directed towards inclusive development and upliftment.
The agenda however covered pressing development issues and upcoming commemorations, including the Sanvidhan Ka Amrut Mahotsav and the 50th anniversary of what PM Modi referred to as the attempt to murder democracy, an allusion to the Emergency imposed in 1975.
Top NDA leaders, including BJP President JP Nadda, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Home Minister Amit Shah, attended the discussions, along with 13 Chief Ministers and 16 Deputy Chief Ministers from BJP-ruled states.
Prominent attendees included Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, alongside representatives from Maharashtra, Bihar, Sikkim, Nagaland, and Meghalaya; states governed by NDA allies.
The meeting however reinforced the alliance’s commitment to national growth, poverty alleviation, and upholding democratic values.
