PM Modi Extends Greetings On Fifth Day Of Shardiya Navratri

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended heartfelt greetings to the nation on the fifth day of Shardiya Navratri, offering prayers to Maa Skandamata for the well-being of all her devotees.

In a post on X, he wrote, “On this Navratri, today I offer my humble prayers to Devi Maa that she blesses all her devotees with happiness, prosperity, and good fortune. May her loving affection infuse new energy and enthusiasm into everyone’s life.”

Significance of the Fifth Day

The fifth day of Navratri 2025 is dedicated to Maa Skandamata, the fifth avatar of Goddess Durga.

Associated with the Vishuddha Chakra, she represents purity, clarity, and spiritual upliftment.

Devotees believe that worshipping Skandamata relieves stress, removes suffering, and brings both material and spiritual blessings.

According to the Panchang, the Panchami Tithi begins after 9:34 AM on September 26 and continues until 12:05 PM on September 27.

Devotees will perform the main worship of Maa Skandamata on September 27, while they honour Maa Kushmanda, the fourth form of the Goddess, during the Chaturthi Tithi until the morning of September 26.

Devotees Celebrate Across India

Across the country, devotees throng temples to offer prayers, flowers, and fruits to Maa Skandamata, seeking her blessings for protection, guidance, and well-being.

Devotees consider yellow and saffron-coloured offerings particularly auspicious during this worship.

She symbolises motherhood, compassion, and the power to guide her devotees toward success in both spiritual and worldly pursuits.

Navratri, meaning ‘nine nights’ in Sanskrit, celebrates Goddess Durga in her nine forms, collectively known as Navdurga.

The festival, observed with prayers, rituals, and devotion across India, began this year on September 22 and will conclude on October 2.

It serves as a period of spiritual reflection, renewal of faith, and cultural celebration, uniting devotees in reverence for the Goddess.

PM Modi’s message and the nationwide celebrations underscore the enduring significance of Navratri and the devotion of millions to Goddess Durga and her nine divine forms.
