PM Modi Explores Gujarat’s Rain Forest, Highlights Skywalk Views Of Statue Of Unity

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday invited visitors to explore the Rain Forest attraction at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat’s Narmada district. He particularly highlighted its glass skywalk, which provides striking views of the Statue of Unity.

After visiting the attraction, PM Modi shared his experience on X, writing: “A wonderful experience awaits you at the Rainforest in Ekta Nagar, Kevadia! Immerse yourself in the beauty of lush greenery and nature. The Skywalk is a special attraction, offering a unique experience. Enjoy breathtaking views of the majestic ‘Statue of Unity.’”

PM Modi explored the Rain Forest and Vaman Vriksha Vatika during programmes marking the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, celebrated as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister honoured Patel with floral tributes at the Statue of Unity. He also inaugurated several tourism and infrastructure facilities and launched construction work on other projects, taking their combined value to ₹426.71 crore.

Glass Skywalk Offers Elevated Forest Views

The Rain Forest covers nearly 47,000 square metres and features a glass-deck skywalk stretching approximately 220 metres. The elevated walkway allows visitors to observe the forest canopy and surrounding scenery.

The facility brings together evergreen vegetation representing the Western Ghats, Himalayas and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Its other features include an artificial waterfall, circular pond, connecting bridges and landscaped walking paths.

An information centre uses interactive displays to introduce visitors to rainforest ecosystems, biodiversity and conservation. The attraction also provides a dedicated activity zone for children.

The Gujarat government has listed the Rain Forest project at ₹14.30 crore. It formed part of 23 completed works, collectively valued at ₹307.83 crore, which PM Modi inaugurated.

The completed projects also include an IRCTC hotel, Ekta Cruise, Eco Trail and upgraded sewage and water treatment facilities.
