On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi left New Delhi for a four-day visit to France and the United States, marking a significant diplomatic engagement with President Emmanuel Macron and President Donald Trump.
In France, PM Modi will co-chair the AI Action Summit with President Macron from 10 to 12 February.
During the trip, the two leaders will also travel to Marseille, where they will inaugurate India’s first consulate in France and visit the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) project.
India is a partner country in this global initiative aimed at advancing energy solutions.
Upon arrival in Paris, PM Modi will attend a dinner hosted by President Macron at the Elysee Palace, where several CEOs from the tech sector will likely be in attendance.
On 11 February, PM Modi will join President Macron for the AI Action Summit and later address the India-France CEOs forum.
On 12 February, PM Modi and President Macron will visit a war cemetery to honor the sacrifices of Indian soldiers in World War I.
The two leaders will also inaugurate the new Indian Consulate in Marseille and visit the ITER site.
After concluding his visit to France, PM Modi will head to the United States for a two-day meeting with President Donald Trump.
This will be their first in-person meeting since President Trump’s second term began.
The leaders will discuss various bilateral matters, following their phone calls in November 2024 and January 2025.
This visit follows PM Modi’s previous trip to the US in June 2017 and his hosting of President Trump in India in February 2020.
