In mid-January, more than 10,000 performers participated in the Bagurumba Dwhou event held at the Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati.
Artists from 81 assembly constituencies across 23 districts came together for a mass performance. The vibrant display captivated audiences with its grace and colour.
Bagurumba, often referred to as the ‘dance of butterflies,’ is a traditional Bodo folk dance. Its fluid, nature-inspired movements symbolise harmony, peace, joy and unity.

During his recent visit to Assam, Prime Minister Modi attended the Bagurumba Dwhou celebration in the presence of state leadership and community dignitaries.
