PM Modi Distributes Over 61,000 Appointment Letters At 18th Rozgar Mela

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday underscored the government’s commitment to youth employment as he distributed more than 61,000 appointment letters at the 18th edition of the Rozgar Mela, held simultaneously at 45 locations across India through a virtual platform.

The newly recruited candidates, drawn from across the country, will join various central ministries and departments, including Home Affairs, Health and Family Welfare, Financial Services, and Higher Education.

Addressing the appointees, the Prime Minister described the appointment letters as an invitation to nation-building, urging the youth to view their roles as part of India’s journey towards becoming a Viksit Bharat. Referring to the recent celebration of Vasant Panchami, he said the new year marked a fresh beginning filled with opportunity and responsibility.

He congratulated the recruits, noting that their contributions would strengthen governance, education, technology, public services, and energy security.

Rozgar Mela As a Mission-Mode Initiative

PM Modi reiterated that connecting young people with skills and employment opportunities has remained a top priority for the government.

He highlighted that since its launch, the Rozgar Mela has evolved into an institutional platform through which over 11 lakh appointment letters have been issued.

He also emphasised India’s demographic advantage as one of the world’s youngest nations, adding that global trade and mobility agreements are opening new avenues for Indian youth both domestically and internationally.

The Prime Minister pointed to massive investments in infrastructure, a rapidly expanding start-up ecosystem, and the growth of the digital and creator economy as key drivers of employment.

He said initiatives such as Digital India have created new opportunities in animation, digital media, and technology-led sectors.

Highlighting women’s participation, PM Modi said nearly 8,000 women received appointment letters at the event, adding that women’s workforce participation and self-employment have seen significant growth over the past decade.

Urging new appointees to work with integrity and empathy, the Prime Minister reminded them of the guiding principle ‘Nagrik Devo Bhava’, stressing that governance must prioritise ease of living and service delivery.

He also encouraged continuous learning through platforms such as iGOT Karmayogi.
