On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation with Tesla CEO Elon Musk, focusing on the potential for collaboration in technology and innovation.
During the call, PM Modi reaffirmed India’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the United States in these critical sectors.
The Prime Minister highlighted the productive discussions they had earlier in February during his visit to the US.
Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “Spoke to @elonmusk and talked about various issues, including the topics we covered during our meeting in Washington DC earlier this year. We discussed the immense potential for collaboration in the areas of technology and innovation. India remains committed to advancing our partnerships with the US in these domains.”
The two leaders had met in Washington, DC earlier this year. During their meeting, they explored ways to deepen collaboration between India and the US. They focused on areas such as space exploration, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development.
They also discussed fostering partnerships in emerging technologies, entrepreneurship, and governance.
Musk, the head of the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), was joined by three of his children.
“Prime Minister and Mr Musk discussed strengthening collaboration between Indian and US entities in innovation, space exploration, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development. Their discussion also touched on opportunities to deepen cooperation in emerging technologies, entrepreneurship, and good governance,” the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) noted.
PM Modi also took to X to provide details about his meeting with Musk.
“Had a very good meeting with @elonmusk in Washington DC. We discussed various issues, including those he is passionate about such as space, mobility, technology and innovation. I talked about India’s efforts towards reform and furthering ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance’,” PM Modi posted on X.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister interacted with Elon Musk’s children, who were also present.
Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “It was also a delight to meet Mr. @elonmusk’s family and to talk about a wide range of subjects!”
