PM Modi Dedicates Kartavya Bhavan To The Nation; Calls It A Symbol Of Viksit & Atmanirbhar Bharat

PM Narendra Modi on Wednesday inaugurated Kartavya Bhavan-03 at Kartavya Path in New Delhi, dedicating the newly constructed government complex to the nation.

He asserted that the new building reflects the Centre’s strong commitment to creating a ‘Viksit’ (developed) and ‘Atmanirbhar’ (self-reliant) India.

Kartavya Bhavan-03 is the first of several buildings planned under the Central Vista redevelopment project. Designed to streamline government operations, the building will consolidate various central ministries and departments currently functioning from multiple locations across Delhi.

The new complex spans approximately 1.5 lakh square meters, with two basement levels and seven floors (Ground + 6). It will house key ministries such as:

  • Home Affairs
  • External Affairs
  • Rural Development
  • MSME
  • DoPT
  • Petroleum and Natural Gas
  • Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA)

PM Modi Highlights Eco-Friendly Features and Energy Efficiency

PM Modi highlighted the building’s focus on sustainability and environmental responsibility. Kartavya Bhavan incorporates features like:

  • Zero-discharge waste management
  • In-house solid waste processing
  • Electric vehicle charging stations
  • Use of recycled construction materials
  • Solar panels generate 5.34 lakh units of electricity annually

The structure is designed to consume 30% less energy compared to traditional office buildings, thanks to innovations like:

  • Double-glazed facade windows
  • LED lighting with occupancy sensors
  • Energy-efficient lifts
  • Centralised energy management system

PM Modi Interacts with Workers, Plants Sapling

During the visit, PM Modi interacted with the construction workers, acknowledging their contribution in shaping Kartavya Bhavan. He also planted a sapling as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, aligning with the environmental focus of the project.

He later posted on X (formerly Twitter), calling the building a ‘symbol of unwavering commitment to serve every citizen’ and praising its role in boosting the delivery of policies and governance.

PM Modi is scheduled to address a public gathering at Kartavya Path around 6:30 PM, marking the culmination of the day’s events and highlighting the significance of the Kartavya Bhavan inauguration in India’s development journey.
