PM Modi Condoles Rewa Bus Accident Deaths; Toddler Missing After Crash

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday condoled the deaths of passengers in a road accident in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district, where three people were killed and several others injured after a passenger bus collided with a bulker on a National Highway.

In a post on social media platform X, PM Modi expressed grief over the loss of lives, conveyed his thoughts to the bereaved families, and prayed for the injured to recover swiftly.

According to police, a bulker hit a Pawan Travels bus from behind late Wednesday evening near Badwar Stand in the Gudh area. The bus was travelling from Rewa to Sidhi.

The impact overturned the bulker and sent the bus plunging into a roadside ditch. Around 40 passengers were on board at the time.

Police and administrative teams reached the site swiftly and shifted the injured to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Rewa, where treatment is ongoing.

Eight passengers are reportedly in critical condition. Several others also sustained injuries.

Rewa Collector Narendra Suryavanshi said the death toll could still rise, and confirmed that a three-year-old girl remains missing following the crash. Her mother, also injured, has been unable to provide information about the child’s whereabouts.

A search operation is currently underway in and around the ditch, as officials suspect the child may have fallen into it.

The bus was on its regular 240-km route from Rewa to Amiliya via Churhat, Baghor, Sidhi and Patpara.
