PM Modi Condoles Deaths Of Seven Workers In Gujarat’s Kutch Road Accident

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday expressed condolences to the families of seven workers killed in a road accident in Gujarat’s Kutch district and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.

In a post shared by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO India) on X, PM Modi said he was distressed by the loss of lives and extended his condolences to those who had lost loved ones in the tragedy.

The Prime Minister prayed for the swift recovery of the injured.

The accident occurred between 3 AM and 4 AM inside the Renewable Energy (RE) Park near Khavda.

According to police, a truck collided head-on with a Bolero Camper carrying workers. The impact severely damaged the pickup vehicle, trapping seven workers inside the wreckage.

Rescue teams used a crane to extricate them, but all seven died. More than 20 injured workers were taken to hospital by ambulance.

Preliminary information suggested that the vehicle was carrying around 30–32 workers at the time of the collision.

The injured were taken to the District Hospital in Bhuj, where specialist doctors provided medical treatment.

Authorities were transporting the deceased to Bhuj for post-mortem examinations.

Police have launched an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Officials are examining vehicle movements within the renewable energy park and other possible contributing factors.

Further details about the victims’ identities and the condition of the injured were awaited.

Khavda, in the arid Kutch region, is a major site for renewable energy development, with large-scale solar and wind power projects under development.
