Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condemned the deaths of civilians in the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, stressing the urgent need for unity and cooperation among Global South countries. In his speech at the 2nd Voice of Global South Summit, he emphasized India’s stance against violence and terrorism, including the October 7 attacks by Hamas on Israel. The Prime Minister called for restraint, dialogue, and diplomacy as essential components of conflict resolution.

Acknowledging emerging challenges in West Asia, PM Modi expressed India’s condemnation of the October 7 terrorist attack in Israel and highlighted the importance of unity among Global South nations for the greater global good. He mentioned sending humanitarian aid to Palestine after discussions with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
Referring to the casualties, over 1,200 Israelis, mostly civilians, were killed in a Hamas assault on October 7, leading to Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, resulting in over 11,000 Palestinian deaths. PM Modi advocated for a collaborative strategy guided by the ‘five Cs’ principles: consultation, communication, cooperation, creativity, and capacity building.
