PM Modi Calls For Centre-State Collaboration To Achieve Viksit Bharat 2047

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday highlighted the need for greater coordination between the Centre and state governments to advance India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.

While presiding over the 11th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog, PM Modi emphasised that shared commitment and collective action are vital to achieving the national vision.

According to the Prime Minister, the spirit of cooperative federalism continues to serve as a cornerstone of the country’s development agenda, enabling governments at all levels to work towards common goals.

This year’s Governing Council Meeting was organised around the theme ‘Inclusive Human Development for Viksit Bharat @2047’.

The discussions focused on ensuring that every citizen, irrespective of geography, gender, age, or economic background, benefits from the nation’s progress.

Participants explored ways to translate the long-term development vision into tangible outcomes that can improve lives across the country.

The meeting brought together Chief Ministers, Lieutenant Governors, and Union Ministers to deliberate on a framework aimed at strengthening human development.

Key areas of focus included building future-ready skills, expanding employment opportunities, encouraging entrepreneurship, improving healthcare outcomes, and promoting social equity.

Leaders also exchanged views on measures that can create sustainable livelihoods and support economic participation across different sections of society.

A major focus of the deliberations was the preparation of a practical roadmap for implementation.

Discussions examined the role of governance reforms, digital public infrastructure, strategic partnerships, and data-led decision-making in achieving development objectives.

The Governing Council also reviewed recommendations emerging from the 5th National Conference of Chief Secretaries.

The recommendations focused on critical sectors such as early childhood education, school education, workforce skilling, higher education, and sports and extracurricular activities, recognising their vital role in shaping India’s future growth trajectory.
