PM Modi Calls For Atmanirbhar Resolve Through Swadeshi Shopping

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the 126th episode of his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat, appealed to citizens to take a collective pledge to make India Atmanirbhar by embracing Swadeshi products.

He urged people to adopt Vocal for Local as their ‘shopping mantra’ during the upcoming festive season.

Highlighting the ongoing GST Bachat Utsav, PM Modi encouraged people to use the occasion to support local businesses.

“You can make your festivals even more special by resolving to buy only Swadeshi products. When we do this, the joy of our celebrations will multiply,” he said.

Vocal for Local: A National Movement

PM Modi emphasised that choosing locally made products not only supports artisans and entrepreneurs but also strengthens the country’s economy.

“Make a resolve that for all times, you will buy only what is produced in the country. When you do that, you are not just purchasing goods; you are bringing home hope, honouring the toil of artisans, and giving wings to young entrepreneurs,” he said.

He reiterated that the path to an Atmanirbhar Bharat lies in promoting local industries and making conscious consumer choices.

The Prime Minister urged citizens to share their Swadeshi purchases on social media to inspire others.

The Prime Minister also appealed to the public to maintain cleanliness during the festive season.

“We clean our homes during festivals, but cleanliness should not be confined to our houses. It should extend to our streets, neighbourhoods, markets, and villages,” he said, reinforcing the message of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Calling the festive season a time of joy and reflection, PM Modi reminded citizens that Diwali and other upcoming festivals should become an opportunity to renew their commitment to self-reliance.

“We have to become Atmanirbhar and make our country Atmanirbhar. The path to that lies only through Swadeshi,” he asserted.

The Prime Minister extended warm wishes for the festive season, expressing confidence that the spirit of Vocal for Local would further strengthen India’s economic independence and cultural pride.
