PM Modi Applauds Ahmedabad Flower Show For Creativity And Cultural Grandeur

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded the Ahmedabad International Flower Show 2026, describing it as an enchanting display and a powerful reflection of creativity, public participation and the city’s close bond with nature.

He noted that the annual event continues to expand in scale and imagination, mirroring Ahmedabad’s vibrant and evolving spirit.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the 14th edition of the flower show on New Year’s Day.

Hosted along the Sabarmati Riverfront near the Atal Bridge, the exhibition features more than 30 lakh flowers and will remain open to visitors until January 22.

Over the years, the show has emerged as one of India’s most visually impressive cultural attractions. This year’s event revolves around the theme ‘Bharat Ek Gatha’ (India – A Saga).

Through elaborate floral installations, the exhibition traces India’s cultural heritage, unity and historical evolution.

The organisers have designed the show to present a narrative that blends tradition with artistic innovation.

A major highlight of the 2026 edition is a massive floral portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records, it stands as the world’s largest flower portrait. The show also features the world’s largest floral mandala, marking a record-breaking milestone for the event.

The tribute holds added significance as it coincides with celebrations marking the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel.

The exhibition spans six thematic zones, each depicting a distinct facet of India’s cultural identity, including festivals, mythology, traditional dance forms and heritage.

An ‘Eternal India’ zone highlights the country’s ancient civilisational roots, while a striking 30-metre-diameter floral installation forms the central attraction.

To enhance engagement, organisers have introduced QR codes and audio guides that offer detailed insights into the designs, sculptures and themes.

The show follows a tiered ticketing system, with weekday entry priced at ₹80 and weekend tickets at ₹100. Special prime viewing slots, available between 8–9 AM and 10–11 PM, are priced at ₹500 per person.

Beyond horticulture, the Ahmedabad International Flower Show 2026 stands as a celebration of India’s unity, creativity and cultural richness.

With its blend of record-setting artistry, technology-driven engagement and strong cultural storytelling, the event further strengthens Ahmedabad’s position as a major cultural and tourism destination.
