PM Modi welcomes UAE President
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, engaged in a vibrant roadshow in Ahmedabad on Tuesday evening, setting the stage for the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in Gandhinagar on Wednesday.
Commencing the visit, Prime Minister Modi, who is in his home state for the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, warmly welcomed the UAE president at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The reception party included Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra, and other senior state officials. A ceremonial guard of honour was accorded to the UAE President upon his arrival.
The 15-minute roadshow saw PM Modi and the UAE president waving to a large gathering of people lining both sides of the road. Welcoming banners adorned the route, creating a festive atmosphere.
The 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit is scheduled to be inaugurated by PM Modi at the Mahatma Mandir Convention Centre in Gandhinagar on Wednesday, with the UAE president as the chief guest.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi conducted bilateral meetings with Timor-Leste President Jose Ramos-Horta and Mozambique President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, both of whom are slated to participate in the global summit. Additionally, PM Modi held discussions with CEOs of major global corporations at the Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.
At 3 pm, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show. On Wednesday, he is slated to hold a meeting with CEOs of leading global corporations and will then proceed to GIFT City, where he will engage with prominent business leaders at the Global FinTech Leadership Forum.
