Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah extended heartfelt birthday greetings to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday, recognizing his commitment to the state’s progress and development.
Prime Minister Modi took to X (formerly Twitter) to wish the Assam CM, writing, “Birthday greetings to Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Ji. I commend his efforts to boost Assam’s growth and empower the people of the state. May he be blessed with a long and healthy life in service of the people.”

Born on February 1, 1969, Sarma is a lawyer-turned-politician who has been serving as the 15th Chief Minister of Assam since 2021. Initially a member of Congress, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on August 23, 2015. Shortly after, he was appointed convenor of the North-East Democratic Alliance (NEDA), significantly impacting the political landscape of the region.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also shared his birthday wishes for Sarma on social media, praising his contributions.
