Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday extended greetings on International Women’s Day. They paid tribute to the contributions of women and highlighted their role in India’s development.
In a post on the social media platform, Prime Minister Modi conveyed his wishes to women across the country and acknowledged their growing role in shaping the nation’s progress.
Taking to X, PM Modi posted, “On International Women’s Day, I extend my greetings to all our Nari Shakti. Across every field, women are shaping India’s progress with determination, creativity and unmatched zeal. Their achievements inspire our nation and strengthen our collective resolve to build a Viksit Bharat.”
“Empowerment of women is at the core of our various schemes and initiatives. We remain committed to creating opportunities that enable every woman to realise her full potential and contribute to India’s journey of development,” the post further read.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also greeted women on the occasion, praising their vital contribution to society and national progress.
“Warm greetings to our Nari Shakti on International Women’s Day,” Shah posted on X.
He further added, “Humankind is indebted to the peerless role Nari Shakti plays in society. Nurturing generations and driving scientific and economic progress, they contribute to every aspect of our lives. This deep gratitude drives Modi Ji’s vision of women-led development, where women are no longer just witnesses to progress but the changemakers who pave our journey to greatness.”
Observed annually on 8 March, International Women’s Day celebrates the achievements of women across social, economic, cultural and political spheres while also highlighting the importance of gender equality and women’s empowerment.
The day is marked worldwide through various events, discussions and initiatives aimed at recognising the contributions of women and promoting equal opportunities in all sectors of society.
