PM Modi, Amit Shah Extend Guru Purnima Greetings To The Nation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended warm greetings to the nation on Guru Purnima, paying tribute to India’s timeless Guru-disciple tradition and highlighting the role of teachers in shaping lives through knowledge, values and positive energy.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister said that a Guru not only imparts knowledge but also inspires disciples with noble thoughts, refined values and inner strength. He urged people to make their Guru’s ideals the foundation of their lives and expressed gratitude to all teachers guiding society with wisdom and selfless dedication.

PM Modi also shared a Sanskrit verse explaining the significance of a Guru in Indian tradition, saying a true Guru provides the right direction, imparts knowledge and truth, guides people on the path of righteousness and leads them towards self-development and spiritual growth.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also extended Guru Purnima greetings, saying Gurus hold the highest place in Indian culture as they enrich lives with the nectar of knowledge while shaping character and building a stronger society and nation. He paid tribute to all revered Gurus for their invaluable contribution to future generations.

Guru Purnima, observed on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Ashadha, honours spiritual and academic teachers and marks the birth anniversary of Maharishi Ved Vyasa.

Across India, devotees, educational institutions and spiritual organisations celebrate the occasion with prayers, discourses and ceremonies honouring Gurus.
