PM Modi in Amroha
During an election rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused Congress MP Rahul Gandhi of disrespecting his beliefs and culture for the sake of political gain. PM Modi referenced Gandhi’s earlier remarks mocking his underwater prayers at Dwarka, Gujarat, implying that Gandhi dismissed ancient cultural practices merely to appeal to his ‘vote bank’.
PM Modi also criticized Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, questioning his alliance with Rahul Gandhi despite claims of being a Yaduvanshi, a descendant of Lord Krishna’s lineage.
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi had taken a swipe at PM Modi’s underwater puja, focusing instead on pressing national issues like farmer distress, inflation, and unemployment. PM Modi responded by highlighting the neglect of these crucial issues in media coverage and accused Gandhi of diverting attention from substantive matters.
Additionally, PM Modi ridiculed the alliance between Yadav and Gandhi, remarking that the people of Uttar Pradesh have rejected their “princely” narrative. He criticized their campaign tactics, accusing them of promoting nepotism, corruption, and appeasement politics.

Further, PM Modi asserted his commitment to social justice, alleging that previous governments had exploited marginalized communities while claiming to champion their cause. He portrayed his administration as fulfilling the dreams of social justice envisioned by historical figures like Jyotiba Phule, Baba Saheb Ambedkar, and Chaudhary Charan Singh.
In the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav are contesting in alliance, with the Samajwadi Party fielding candidates in 63 seats and the Congress in 17 seats.
