PM Modi Accuses Congress Of Erasing Ambedkar’s Legacy; Calls Out ‘Hypocrisy’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp attack on the Congress, accusing it of disrespecting Dr. BR Ambedkar and undermining the SC/ST communities. His remarks followed Congress’ demand for Home Minister Amit Shah’s resignation over alleged remarks on Ambedkar in the Rajya Sabha.

In a series of posts on X, PM Modi alleged Congress has a history of marginalizing Ambedkar. He called the party’s recent accusations “theatrics” to divert attention from its past actions.

“In Parliament, HM Amit Shah ji exposed Congress’ dark history of insulting Dr. Ambedkar and ignoring SC/ST communities. They are stung by the facts and now resorting to drama!” PM Modi wrote.

He accused Congress of using “dirty tricks” to erase Ambedkar’s legacy. “The Congress and its ecosystem think their lies can hide years of insult to Ambedkar and SC/ST communities. They are mistaken!” he added.

PM Modi highlighted his government’s efforts to honor Ambedkar, citing initiatives like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and Jal Jeevan Mission. He said these programs have significantly improved the lives of marginalized communities.

“Our government has worked tirelessly to fulfill Dr. Ambedkar’s vision,” he stated. Modi also referenced the development of the “Panchteerth,” five key sites linked to Ambedkar’s life, as a tribute to the Dalit icon.

He accused Congress of historical wrongs, including denying Ambedkar the Bharat Ratna, opposing his election campaigns, and excluding his portrait from Parliament’s Central Hall.

Modi further criticized Congress for failing to empower SC/ST communities during its rule, claiming atrocities against these groups were highest under its regimes.

With this scathing attack, Modi positioned his government as the true custodian of Ambedkar’s legacy while calling out Congress for its “hypocrisy” on the Dalit icon.
