PM Modi Accompanies Nitin Nabin As He Assumes Charge As BJP Chief

The Bharatiya Janata Party’s newly elected national president, Nitin Nabin, formally took charge of his office at the party headquarters in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi accompanied him, along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and senior leaders Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari and outgoing president JP Nadda.

PM Modi also briefly met Nabin’s family members, congratulating them and sharing light-hearted moments during the occasion.

The elevation of 45-year-old Nitin Nabin marks a significant generational transition within the BJP, reflecting the party’s focus on nurturing younger leadership while maintaining organisational continuity.

Addressing party workers earlier, PM Modi described himself as a party worker and referred to Nabin as his ‘boss’, drawing loud applause.

The Prime Minister said Nabin combines youthful energy with long organisational experience, qualities he said would benefit the party in the years ahead.

After assuming charge, Nitin Nabin described the moment as one of resolve, saying he was taking on not just a position but also the ideology, traditions and responsibility of a nationalist movement.

He emphasised that politics in the BJP represents sacrifice, discipline and service rather than power or comfort.

Ahead of his election, Nabin received broad organisational backing, with 37 nomination sets filed in his support.

Following his formal elevation, authorities accorded him Z-category security, with CRPF commandos providing round-the-clock protection during his official duties and travels.
