PM Dhan Dhanya Yojana & Pulse Self-Reliance Mission To Ensure Farmers’ Prosperity: Dr Dinesh Sharma

Dr Dinesh Sharma, Rajya Sabha MP and former UP Deputy Chief Minister, believes that the PM Dhan Dhanya Yojana and Pulse Self-Reliance Mission will transform rural life by significantly raising farmers’ income.

According to him, both schemes are key steps toward building a self-reliant and developed India. He said the government’s focus is on bringing urban comforts to villages and encouraging farmers.

Adapting modern, diverse farming methods along with traditional practices.

Addressing a large gathering of farmers at the National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Telibagh, before virtually joining Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s inauguration of agricultural projects worth ₹42,000 crore.

Dr Sharma said a revolutionary phase is beginning in India’s agriculture sector. Among these projects, the ₹24,000 crore PM Dhan Dhanya Yojana will cover 100 districts.

Furthermore, offering easy credit, modern storage and irrigation facilities for every farmer. He remarked that under the PM Modi government, every aspect of rural life has transformed over the past 11 years.

Village roads have replaced dirt tracks, electricity has reached every household, and farmers no longer depend solely on rainwater for irrigation.

He said, “Now, the government ensures water reaches every field”.

Dr Sharma emphasised that today’s farmer no longer needs to stand in queues. Crop insurance, compensation and subsidies are directly transferred to their Jan Dhan accounts, ensuring zero corruption.

He recalled that former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri gave the slogan ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’.

Later expanded by Atal Bihari Vajpayee to include ‘Jai Vigyan’.

PM Modi has added ‘Jai Anusandhan’ – emphasising research and innovation in agriculture to boost productivity. He concluded by noting that GST simplification and tax reliefs have boosted citizens’ purchasing power.

Furthermore, it fuels market demand and strengthens the economy.

Senior officials, including Dr Kajal Chakravarty, Dr Parvat Kumar Pradhan, Dr Rajeev Kumar Singh, Dr Ravindra Kumar, Dr Sharad Kumar Singh and Dr Amit Singh Bisht, were present on the occasion.
