The Delhi Police announced that both carriageways and service roads around key city points will face traffic restrictions due to official exigencies.
Affected routes include W Point, ITO Chowk, IP Marg, BSZ Marg, DDU Marg, Tagore Road, Vishnu Digambar Marg, Mirdard Road, Ranjeet Singh Marg, Ranjeet Singh Flyover, Jangir Road, and Press Road.
Authorities advised motorists travelling towards New Delhi Railway Station to avoid DDU Marg.
Authorities suggested alternative routes, including Kotla Cut – Mirdard Chowk or Delhi Gate – R/A Kamla Market, for onward journeys to NDRS.
The police implemented strict parking regulations along these routes.
Officials allowed parking only in designated areas and warned that they would tow any vehicle violating the rules and initiate legal action immediately.
Restricted zones include Bahadurshah Zafar Marg, IP Marg, DDU Marg, Tagore Road, Vishnu Digambar Marg, Mirdard Road, Ranjeet Singh Flyover, Jangir Road, and Press Road.
Authorities stressed that these measures are essential to maintain smooth traffic flow during official events and prevent congestion in central New Delhi.
Commuters were urged to follow diversion signs, obey traffic personnel, and exercise patience.
Using public transport where possible and planning alternative routes in advance will help reduce delays.
Through proactive communication, the Delhi Police sought to balance official requirements with public safety and commuter convenience.
Officials asked motorists to stay informed about any changes or additional restrictions and cooperate fully to ensure a smooth and safe travel experience during the advisory period.
By enforcing these measures, the Delhi Police aim to minimise disruption, safeguard road users, and facilitate the smooth conduct of official events across the city.
